Fire Boar successfully upgraded the fire detection and emergency warning system to ensure full compliance with AS1670.4 and AS1670 Section 7. This project involved modernizing the fire infrastructure with advanced addressable detection and improved evacuation communication.

Technical Achievements:

• System Expansion & Modernization
  • Installed a new fire detection loop and additional node to enhance system coverage.
  • Integrated a new loop card for improved network capacity.
  • Upgraded the EWIS amplifier from 50W to 150W, boosting emergency audio output.
• Advanced Fire Detection & Alarm Installation
  • Installed 42 addressable smoke detectors and 40 concealed space smoke detectors for comprehensive fire monitoring.
  • Added 2 addressable thermal detectors to enhance fire response in specific areas.
  • Installed 40 EWIS speakers and 2 horn speakers to improve emergency communication.
  • Installed a new fire trip relay for enhanced system control.
• Full System Programming & Compliance
  • All Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) programming completed by Fire Boar, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Provided as-installed drawings, Form 12, and O&M manuals for compliance documentation.

Challenges Overcome:

• Complex System Upgrades – Successfully installed and programmed a new fire detection loop, requiring precise after-hours execution.
• Limited Height Access – Worked within site constraints, utilizing 12ft steps while accommodating unknown flooring loads under seating.
• Seamless Execution & Minimal Disruption – Balanced work schedules between normal and after-hours to complete critical installations efficiently.
