Fire Detection & Suppression System Installation
Fire Boar successfully supplied and installed a Fire Detection System and IG541 Gaseous Suppression System in compliance with AS2444, AS1670, AS1670.4, and AS4214. This advanced system enhances fire protection for a high-risk Class ‘A’ switch room, utilizing ProInert IG-541 for total flood suppression.
Technical Achievements:
- IG541 Gaseous Suppression – Installed a 320kg ProInert IG-541 system with precise discharge nozzles, manifold assemblies, and pressure relief vents.
- Comprehensive Fire Detection – Integrated an ONYX AFP-3030 Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) with addressable smoke detectors, manual call points, and an advanced VESDA aspirating smoke detection system.
- Fail-Safe Power & Network Integration – Designed for 24-hour battery backup, ensuring uninterrupted protection.
- Enhanced Safety Measures – Installed multiple warning signs, system release stations, and CO2 fire extinguishers for additional fire control.
Challenges Overcome:
- Precision Installation & Calibration – Conducted hydraulic calculations and fan integrity tests to ensure accurate gas distribution and containment.
- Compliance & Safety Assurance – Navigated complex regulatory requirements to achieve full compliance with Australian Standards.
- Seamless Execution – Coordinated installation within normal working hours, minimizing disruption.
Deliverables & Support:
- As-installed drawings, Form 12 & Form 15 compliance documents, and O&M manuals provided.
- Fully tested and commissioned system, ensuring reliability and compliance.
