Fire System Upgrade & Compliance Works

Fire Boar successfully upgraded the fire protection system to ensure full compliance with AS1670.4, AS1670.1, and AS2118.1. This project involved the removal of outdated fire safety components and the installation of modern, addressable fire detection and evacuation systems.

Technical Achievements:

• System Modernization – Replaced outdated sprinkler heads, pipework, smoke detectors, and evacuation speakers to align with current safety standards.
• Enhanced Fire Detection – Installed new addressable thermal detectors tailored to the site’s cold shell layout.
• Improved Emergency Communication – Deployed new horn speakers throughout the area for clearer evacuation alerts.
• Fire Safety Reinforcement – Installed four 4.5kg ABE fire extinguishers for enhanced on-site protection.
• Seamless System Integration – Reprogrammed the Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) to accommodate the new addressable system.

Challenges Overcome:

• Complex System Overhaul – Carefully removed and replaced outdated components while maintaining system integrity.
• Precision Installation & Compliance – Ensured accurate placement of new detection and alarm devices in compliance with Australian Standards.
• Minimized Disruption – Completed work during standard hours using 12ft access equipment, ensuring efficiency without affecting site operations.
