Fire System Installation & Compliance Upgrade

Project Overview:
Fire Boar was engaged to install a comprehensive new fire system to ensure compliance with AS1670.4, AS1670.1, and AS2118.1. The project encompassed dry fire systems, sprinklers, pumps, and portable fire protection equipment to enhance safety and regulatory adherence.

Technical Achievements:

  • Advanced Fire Detection & Warning Systems: Installed a new addressable Fire Detection and Control Indicating Equipment (FDCIE) with an ASE, Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS), and Fire Fan Control Panel (FFCP). Deployed 291 addressable smoke detectors, 11 thermal detectors, and 62 concealed space detectors with remote indicators.
  • Comprehensive Evacuation & Communication Setup: Installed 195 recessed evacuation speakers, 31 horn speakers, 16 warden intercom phones, and 30 addressable manual call points. Integrated fire trip modules for mechanical and wet fire system interfacing.
  • Extensive Sprinkler System Installation: Implemented 534 flush-mounted sprinkler heads, 291 concealed space sprinkler heads, and additional sidewall and wall-wetting sprinklers. Installed new sprinkler mains, booster systems, and control valves.
  • Hydraulic & Pumping Solutions: Supplied and installed a combined sprinkler/hydrant pump set, a jacking pump, and completed full pump room fit-out with necessary pipework and valves.
  • Portable Fire Equipment Integration: Installed 55 ABE fire extinguishers and a CO2 extinguisher for targeted fire suppression.

Challenges Overcome:

  • Complex System Integration: Successfully coordinated the installation and programming of the Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) and all addressable devices to ensure a seamless and compliant operation.
  • Structural & Accessibility Constraints: Managed height-access requirements efficiently with 12ft steps to install critical system components.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Delivered all required certifications, including Form 12, operational and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and new block plans for regulatory approval.

This project highlights Fire Boar’s expertise in delivering large-scale fire system installations with precision, compliance, and operational efficiency.
